About Us

Welcome to the Mormon Women Website!

About This Site

The purpose of this site is to provide resources for those interested in learning or studying more about Mormon women and their lives as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This site also exists to allow LDS women to share their uplifting thoughts, feelings, and testimony with others, and read what other Mormon women have to say.

We have taken a different approach than most websites using blog technology. While we want this to be a warm and welcome site for all readers (!!), this is not a site designed for unfettered discussion. Comments and questions are definitely welcome, but please note how we are asking readers to share their thoughts.

For general site comments, feedback, concerns, or questions (either for the site owners or for individual authors/commenters), rather than using the comments feature on the posts, we kindly ask that you send us email at ‘mormonwoman’ AT ‘gmail’ DOT ‘com’ rather than using the comments box. We have a Frequently Asked Questions feature designed to allow us to address questions you may have, and also have a link in the sidebar designed to allow us to share some of our readers’ comments and feedback. If there is a particular author or commenter you wish to contact, we will send your message on to that commenter where possible.

The purpose of the comments feature that is enabled on some posts is to allow Mormon women to share their thoughts on various topics and, where appropriate, to respond to posted Frequently Asked Questions that readers submit. This way, readers can hear from a variety of Mormon women on different topics, but readers don’t have to sift through an entire discussion to understand the context of a comment. Each comment could even be considered a sort of post in and of itself. You will note that our Sharing our Voices feature is organized topically to make your reading experience easier.

Our desire is not to stifle interaction or questions, but to avoid tangential and sometimes contentious discussion that is not uncommon on blogs. We want to keep things streamlined so that when you click on a topic, you will only be getting thoughts on that topic and nothing else.

So, please feel free to send us your thoughts, questions, concerns, or feedback, but please use email to do that unless you are a Mormon woman wanting to share your voice about the themes we have chosen. (To do so, simply find a post that matches what you want to say, and share away!) (If you would like to see an additional theme included, please send us an email!)

We hope that you will find this format helpful to understanding more Who We Are. Thank you for visiting our site, and we hope you enjoy your visit.

About Us

We as women of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are a diverse group. We live all over the world, speak myriad languages, and live with different opportunities and challenges. But there are some principles and truths that bind us together, and this site is designed to explore those uniting elements in our lives.

Whether you want to understand more about LDS womanhood, or are a Mormon woman interested in reading uplifting content, we hope this site will be of benefit to you. While we are not an official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we strive to keep our content in line with the beliefs and doctrines of the Church.

This site is sponsored by the More Good Foundation, and is managed by a group of Mormon women who desired to have a place for people to learn more about Mormon womanhood and about the Church, without readers having to sift through lots of discussion. As such, you will note that this isn’t a typical blog where there is unfettered discussion. For more about how we have approached this site and how we manage comments and feedback, please read About This Site.

If you would like a succinct summary of Who We Are, you can read what is called the Relief Society Declaration. (The Relief Society is the organization for women within the Church, focused on faith, families, and relief.)

We also invite you to listen to a piece entitled “Who We Are” (written and generously made available by Tammy Simister Robinson) that reflects the power, purpose, and joy we feel in our lives as Mormon women. The words are also included below.

Who We Are

We are beloved daughters of God;
Born of His Spirit, blessed by His love.
Serving the Lord with purpose and strength;
Women of vision, virtue, and faith.

Chorus:
This is who we are:
Sisters in Zion.
This is who we are:
Seekers of light.
This is who we are:
Women of Christ,
Daughters of God.
This is who we are.

Women of wisdom,
Teachers of truth,
Keepers of covenants,
Guardians of good,
Partners in promise
Woven as one;
Seeking eternal treasures beyond.

(Chorus)

Bringing nobility to motherhood,
Finding joy in womanhood,
Unified through sisterhood.
Steady and right,
Holding the rod,
Rising in light,
Standing with God!

This is who we are:
Sisters in Zion.
We are
Seekers of light.
This is who we are:
Women of Jesus, our Savior,
Daughters of God.
This is who we are.
Women of vision, and virtue and faith.
This is who we are!
